Yeah. They're obviously not identical but deal with similar themes. King of comedy seems to have a lot of scenes which have been mirrored in joker pretty deliberately.

Combining both is what they did in classical art, at least when they weren't just doing vanity portraits and landscapes for money. You can have art without meaning though, the thing is it needs to be able to convey something of emotional value. At least in my opinion.
If art can be literally anything then the word means nothing.
