“Oh, Camilla! Congrats on beating me tonight, even if it was a countout. And by the way I had NO idea Kiyoko would have done something like that! I didn’t even notice the turnbuckle was exposed when I whipped you into it, I just figured the pad fell off when you hit it because of how hard I slammed you!” Annabella flexes, while maintaining her clearly faked friendly demeanour. “So really, I’m totally innocent here. Kiyoko’s actions are her own, and I shouldn’t be held responsible for them.”
Annabelle’s smile widens. “And sure, I’m very sorry about the tweet and I really do mean that, and in fact, I’ll post the retraction now since that was the deal.”
As Annabelle unlocks her phone, Camilla enquires as to who she would have asked her to fight had she won.
“Honestly? I’ve got no clue exactly who it would have been. But The Belle Report tends to make the people I report on pretty angry, and some of those angry people start looking for a fight.”
Annabelle starts to type her retraction. She knew this could ruin her credibility. But if she played her cards right, it could be a positive. It could get her more attention than ever.
She maintains her smile, it almost appears genuine now. “So I guess the answer to your question is I’d have asked you to fight the next person to hold a grudge over something I said about them in the Belle Report!”
