If the holy men on Mount Athos say that they are uncertain they're going to be saved and that they still think they're not doing enough to follow in the footsteps of Christ, where in hell does that puts us laymen (pun intended)? Use the time you still have to repent, confess your sins, pray without ceasing and take part in the holy liturgy and communion with Christ - once you're gone from this world, it's too late for that.
