I guess there are still a few who want to be "successful" but a lot just check out early and don't bother to check back in. If robots did all the labor then maybe this wouldn't be a terrible problem but that's still decades away. Meanwhile we have tens of millions of youth queued up around the world to live a life of frivolous dissolution. I'm not sure if that is anything but a moral problem or if the death of humanity in its entirety would even matter. I don't think it has been proven that anything matters. The fact everything living and unliving rots, dies, and is forgotten seems to affirm that. If you get run over by a car and wake up in hell it's already too late. But if you get shot in the head and wake up in heaven what are you going to do for all eternity? I think our society should be based around creating as much leisure time as possible and if our mammalian instincts means it results in the death of our species then so be it.
