I had a crush on a girl growing up and it hurt a lot. reality is that love is rare and also just not productive/useful. You would wonder why we consider love to be so fundemental yet throughout history in most cultures have their sons and daugthers married based on their own decision. Do your parents love each other? My parents didn't love each other and neither did they love the new people they met. To me the successful relationships seem more like advanced form of friendship than love. True love is being able to give up everything for that other person and having a kind of loyalty that makes you want to sacrifice everything to them. I never see that in anyone. Except in myself
