In fact, they eat vegetable matter that is non-digestible to humans. Kine especially are valuable as ruminants.
Dogs are carnivores and are a competitor for food. It makes no sense to hunt for antelope to feed a dog, then eat the dog.
It does make sense to use dogs to hunt prey, give the guts/assholes/heads to the dogs.
Or the dogs can eat human feces.
Homo sapiens sapiens does not husband canids for a food source.
