All this shit has already reared its ugly head in smaller instances.
Targeted advertising for electronic billboards in food courts for instance, which base the ads on your gender and ethnicity.
And the baby example is based on a real situation where someone ended up suddenly getting a lot of baby related ads pushed on them only to suddenly find out they were pregnant.
Predictive algorithms, my dudes. They're already pretty amazing.
The scary thing is that it's advanced so quickly that most people seem to have no idea how accurate they are, or even that it exists, let alone how prevalent the use of that stuff is in things like advertising and media.
