>>6522996NPCs are people who can't construct thoughts/sentences manually and regurgitate things they've heard on talk radio or heard on TV wholesale as if they've come up with them themselves. Like in Fallout: NV where they cheaped out on the voice acting budget and you got "Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter" you get people who only repeat things.
Think of that scene in the Last Action Hero where Arnie says Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers. Some NPC or half-blood NPC is going to scream "gb2reddit!! le cultural references are legitimate political commentary GTFO nigger im remembering the correct clique behaviour beep boop" NPCs are made uncomfortable by autistic people because they focus in on overly specific things and it creates feelings of claustrophobia, they need forced whipcrack smart witticisms (which are completely canned and not emergent player character gameplay akin to using exploits to troll people) to lubricate conversations.
In the UK we have things called panel shows that masquerade as comedy which are entirely scripted and made to appear off the cuff and there's footage of the rehearsals where they're getting their fake 'improvised' lines wrong and they're saying oh shit I fucked up my mel gibson is an antisemite joke start again. A lot of British normies especially Deanos (consumerist upper working class no soul pretends to like football to fit in) think that this is real banter and try to emulate it with canned lines at the ready and are made uncomfortable by sincerity. These shows are evidence that the Savile Broadcasting Corporation know about the existence of NPCs and they're pouring gasoline on the blankbrain blaze by creating this fear of ridicule conditioning so people don't say sincere or earnest things. One of the main culprits is fucking Jimmy Carr who looks like Nonceferatu and was an aspiring priest who claims he was a virgin until he was 30 to protect against abuse claims, it's like a cabal here.
