First, no jews allowed to respond. I’ll get hate from a lot of people because they like having fun with this but I’m tired of seeing wrong answers. So, let’s put this to rest.
>The answer is 2/3.
The thing about this ‘problem’ is that it’s a trick question.
The dicklicker who framed this question asked for a specific color to make you focus on two colors and then asks you odds on the second draw. This is the same shit stage magicians do to distract.
The thing is, the SECOND DRAW IS COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON THE FIRST DRAW and is always from the same box as the first.
Knowing this, it is easy to see that the real question should have been:
>WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF DRAWING THE SAME COLOR TWICE FROM A RANDOM BOX?
Random first draw means an equal probability to draw from the three boxes. Yes.
Drawing from the first box gives you gold/gold (SAME).
Drawing from the second gives gold or silver/then the opposite (DIFFERENT).
Drawing from the third gives silver/silver (SAME).
If you drew a gold (or silver) you have a 2/3 chance to draw the ‘SAME’, which is easily seen if asked the right question in the first place. This was never a paradox and is simply a question meant to distract and make the one asking it seem smart.
>I looked up Bertrand and fully expected him to be a jew. His early life didn’t mention as such but I still have my suspicions.
>Bertrand’s great contribution? He was a clerk. And he commented on the works of others.
>Remember that, at this time, anyone who could read, write and cypher was considered educated.
