>>15948761>the earliest I know of is during the Victorian eraIt'd be kind of cool if they had weaponry from of that time, then. Imagine a blunderbuss hand, although I don't know if that would even work, lol.
Maybe something fictional since the inventor who made the dolls would likely have the skillset for it, although still in the 19th century style. I suppose that's a bit generic, probably done before. But it'd be cool on dolls.
>would seem quite a barbaric contrast to the genteel comportment of the dollsBut, wouldn't the contrast compliment it in a pretty cool way? A minigun barrel for one hand, and a cup of tea on the other. The theme of classiness could stay as it is, while their designs are clearly made with them fighting it to the death in mind. Could be the creator playing around to see what weird combat design he came up with works best, no? Maybe he just got so caught up over which one of his designs is the perfect one, that he wouldn't be satisfied until he conducts a proper demonstration. I'm sure you've done something of the sort before, for example if you've ever played much of sandbox games. But added with their own free will and consciousness, they seek the simpler things in life despite being as their form of personalized killing machines. It would also mean that being the perfect doll that the inventor is looking for is not who they are in character, but the weaponry they wield more than anything else. They're just the tracks for the tank to keep it moving, while the cannon is what's being sized up. The character development could be the realization and coming of terms with that, therefore settling on the things you listed, becoming more gentle while following programming still. I don't know, a simple design change like that makes everything far more interesting, and also cool, for me. But maybe that's just me going soi, there are a likely bunch of holes in that approach, I'm sure that a lot of people just prefer the original.
