I am writing a thesis paper on toxic online behaviour, and what better site to go to then here.
Now dont get me wrong, i am a regular poster here on 4chan, and most of the time, it isnt too bad, especially SFW threads like /adv/ and /bant/. I'm all for edgy humor, and people on 4chan can be very honest and brutal. I appreciate that.
But my god can this fucking site be toxic. I once posted a thread asking for relationship advice cause i thought my boyfriend was cheating on me and all i got was "Lmao its your fault for not being good enough" and "miserable tranny, die" and shit like that. The ammount of rampant sexism, racism and homophobia is astonishing to me. I love and fucking hate 4chan at the same time.
So my question is for all anons who have ever posted something hateful or were just an asshole to another anon in general:

Also, please ellaborate on your answers. I need this for my fucking thesis paper, so i want real answers. I'll be posting this on different threads.
