>>3588811I've never cut my finger loading my SKS, I've also shot a friend's M1 Garand (more notorious for finger smashing) and never got it caught reloading it like 8 times. Train and familiarize yourself and get a standard routine with your firearm, this is expected of all gun owners in the US, though some don't meet up to it. I find SKS's to be mild honestly, only 6lbs kick and 155 decibels, pretty mellow, shoot a .338 lapua mag or even a .300 win mag and you'll feel it.
