Some fear death which is pointless since it's unavoidable and others care because they want to live to see themselves make a difference which is either noble and good hearted or self righteously vanity driven.
No one should be an absolute coward who fears the world and refuses to be involved with it nor should someone just throw their lives at the will of the wind.
A good middle ground is idea.
