Shitty building practices have been going on for decades because of a fucked up attitude. “I won’t live there, so why do I care?” I’m from a city that built a massive number of houses in the 1980’s in reclaimed swamp land. A decade later (and still to this day) the houses all developed serious foundation issues. When it started there was an outbreak of structure fires due to gas lines rupturing as the houses slowly sank. Why was this even allowed? What kind of asshole though it was a good idea? What kind of retard willfully buys a house out there?
The same goes for modern building materials. They’re designed to last 30 years, because that’s the length of a mortgage. You would have to be brain dead to buy a house made after the 1980’s. Best bet is before the temporary switch to aluminum wiring in the 1980’s.
