>>18236384Well I'm not an atheist because in my experience there is no adequate explanation for the non existence of god. I know that's an inversion of what is typically said by atheists, but i've had a peculiar experience. A lot of it has to do with night terrors, desperation, and trying everything get the night terrors to stop. What ultimately helped me to overcome my experiences was turning to Jesus. Whether it is the proof of the metaphysical or just psychological, I can't say. All I can say is that I am no longer afflicted by night terrors. And they were bad.
Outside of my own anecdotal experiences, another thing I've been thinking about is the how the primary theory atheist have of there being no god, is the mere fact that terrible things happen to innocent people.
>diseases, murder etc. etc.but isn't that the fundamental lesson of the story of Jesus? That terrible things happen to innocent people? And that only we are to blame?
This could even be debated to be proof of metaphysical evil. But if metaphysical evil is real, would that not also be proof that the opposite exists?
Idk, sorry for the theological ranting. I'm typically very scientifically minded, but lately I've been seeking alternate answers for problems and religion is making more and more sense as I put more thought towards it.
Even outside of the metaphysical, its ability to organize society and produce great people and great beauty is not a matter of dispute.
