The law came to INCREASE transgressions.
The more you try to follow it the MORE you will sin.
Romans 5:20
20Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound
>the law entered>that the offence might aboundAnon sin has been dealt with
your sins have been paid for
those who believe in Paul's gospel are justified
he who is justified CAN NOT SIN because God does not count there sins anymore
Romans 4:5-8
5And to the one who does not work but believes ina him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, 6just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
7“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
and whose sins are covered;
8blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.”
Imagine being able to sin and God not counting it.
This is something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT then what Jesus offered.
Jesus offered being pardoned and put on parole, if you sin again you get taken off parole.
Sin is a transgression of the law. People who believe in Paul's gospel(there are 2 gospel see meme for info) are DEAD to the law. The law is DEAD unto them because God NO LONGER COUNTS there sins.
This is liberation from sin! Where there is no law there is no sin.
People try to mix what Jesus and the 12 taught and what Paul taught. Paul TAUGHT something RADICALLY DIFFERENT.
As long as you are under the law you at best can be on parole.
Sin and Justification (believers are justified, they can not sin because they are dead to the law, God does not count their sins anymore, this was NOT something taught by Jesus when he was alive, this was revealed only to the apostle Paul)
