in the akudama drive hacker left, we got some minor character development for doc swindler and cruiser with larger character development for the kids that just got introduced, learned that there is a new slightly mysterious location they're headed to, saw the big floating kansai heads, and a ton of executioners got dispatched. pretty much all of it was done through sitting around and talking about it too
in the jujutsu kaisen episode yuji made a pact with sukana that he doesn't even know about through a casual fight scene establishing more about both characters and curse stuff, we learned a bit about gojo's goals, there was a slight teaser about a bunch of the side character's getting to do a bunch of stuff later on as well as a big teaser about megumi getting something significant soon, a bunch of information was dropped about how curse energy works, yuji started training for a big power up through an interesting method, and we got a bunch of character development for the gang of curses with another action-y scene.
jujutsu kaisen was just more information with more interesting implications and delivery
