>>11215874/pol/ helps in countless ways, every day.
Seeing others from around the world respond in the same way I would, question the same things I do, helps me to reassure that, no I'm not crazy, that person did just make an about face on their beliefs or yes, there is a thread to pull on here, do some more research.
/pol/ is also a good way to get used to how people really think, semi-anonymously. I can build up resilience to being called a faggot because I've been called a faggot for 8 years every day. Now I don't have an immediate need to say "I'm not a faggot", I say "what faggot thing was I doing to make this person say I was a faggot" or even "why does this person think I'm a faggot" instead of it shutting me down.
Finally it gives me hope. I'm older. If I watched the news or went on sites where you sign in, I'd think I was taking crazy pills, and that the next generation was even more disappointing than my own. People in the next gen are smarter, more able, quicker, and more aware than any generation since WW1.
This is a terrible place. Terrible things can be good. It's what you learn from it. I wouldn't have /pol/ any other way.
