>>16026318I am not sure if I agree. I think it is inevitable because shareholders won't give up on their profits and will continue to lobby governments to take half measures at best. What's infuriating is that a very small number of people who are already absurdly rich, which is very important to mention, are willing to sacrifice the future of an entire species just to make themselves even richer so they can... do what exactly when they can already buy and do more or less anything they please? The fault is not theirs alone, it also lies with the spineless politicians who are the same, only on a smaller scale.
The process has already started, wildfires are becoming the norm in certain parts of the world every summer, the sea levels are rising, island countries in unfortunate positions are being ravaged by storms and floods which can destroy entire cities. But maybe this is a good thing, the systems in place are rotten and no matter how many compromises journalists think we can make with the status quo it will stay that way. Perhaps if it all collapses something actually beneficial for the average individual can rise to take its place.
