I did all the lines either by hand or holding shift to make a straight line for a bit, then making another straight line at a slightly different angle. When I get in the mood to make OC I'll only stop to learn something if it's absolutely necessary, in this case I could pretty much do it manually.
Thinking about getting one of those drawing pads Karen has but they're fairly pricey.
