I would not be able to afford this house now.
It's far from the city, but my job can be done remotely, I work hard to make sure I can keep telecommuting and my employer recognizes it.
Basically it's "do you want me to spend 1 hour each way going to and from work in my car, while I'll be unavailable, or would you rather have me work from home, and be fully available during the time I would otherwise be sitting in traffic?"
it's a no-brainer. and I can go cut the grass on my lunch break.
