I don't use eggs. I use heat. Blowtorch or oven or gas stove. After cleaning, wipe carefully with alcohol or acetone. Don't touch it except by the rim. Heat slowly until rainbow colors start to form and then stop.
practice on some cheap junk first. It makes beautiful colored toning. Like heating steel for rainbow patina.
