>>14938442theres not a lot on celtiberians, the romans spent a good 200 years pacifying the hispanian peninsula and running gold mines out of it, pic rel is a celtiberian statue
its more accurate to state that the tribes on the border of gaul were celts, and the tribes closer to the atlantic ocean and the south in iberia were not, but had close cultural ties to celts
the lusitanians to the furthest west live in whats now portugal and were some of the fiercest in resisting rome
as for the ancient irish, the proofs there is a bit more archeological but i believe the irish legends of the invasions, that the most recent invasion (migration/settling) of ireland was done by a seafaring people who came from north africa/egypt (phoenicians) but settled in spain briefly
one part of the legend states how an iberian king climbed the tallest tower in his kingdom and saw ireland in the distance and his son the prince took his ships there along with an egyptian princess named Scoti
>>14938454yeah picts are "celtic" but seem to have much deeper indigenous roots and i wish there was more about their language left so that could be explored
and yeah the modern irish have a lot more norse influence than people like to admit, especially in their modern stories, ancient irish legends read quite a bit different than storybook ones
