Ironically enough, while they do, to some extend, rebel against traditional gender roles, they also promise an alternative to (((modern))) feminity. While I think that the image of the modern slut, the "roastie" is not as prevalent, as some people want you to think to demoralise you, it seems understandable. These days even people that previously disliked them, for beeing rowdy or "gay", discover their soft side for the humble tomboy. Again, why? The "Roastie" as called here, is in fact, by all means a traditional woman, atleast in the emotional sense. She is, a corruption of it, all the bad that lays in woman amplified. The same thing happens to men, but that is another topic. The tomboy, that rebelled against those societal preconcaptions of feminity and lived it out on her own terms, funnily enough has in this, retained more of the good qualities of the female, preserved even. Call me drastic, but I would argue that in these times, the humble tomboy is the thinking conseratives choice
