Unlike the Spanish and Portuguese, America waged war, which has been considered borderline genocidal, against the natives, which would include "Mexicans." Not only that, but we've even mass deported people of Mexican heritage in the 20th century.
Unlike most Americans, especially unlike most Americans that would be considered "racist" such as myself, I believe that America has, historically, been an amalgamation of Europe. I'd even argue that people from the Middle East have more of a place in the USA than indigenous people, seeing as there's a mutual history between the peoples.
