Facebook's different in the sense that it completely evolved passed to university students entirely, whilst 4chan still heavily caters to anime fans in the sense of 90% of the banners, most of the advertising, the addition of Sachika to the home page as recent as last year, the mascot being Yotsuba, the presence of mods who side with anime posters and frequently post anime, /pol/'s brexit sticky playing anime music despite having nothing to do with anime, and anime being allowed on all boards within reason (the oldest, longest running general on this website that's still around today is /k/'s anime threads).
