But that being said, the Soviet Union wasn’t really communist anyway, they were more along the lines of state capitalist. Do they used the term but it wasn’t really true, then the West used the example of the Soviet Union to fear monger and convince everyone that communism and the left is inherently bad.
But that’s my observation, what happens with the Soviet Union, it was more complicated then that, but Stalin was able to concentrate power in the state after the revolution and deposing of Lenin and Trotsky.
