Well principles are important right? You gotta present some kind of reasonable and rational arguments which also appeal to people's morals if you want to convince them to side with you on things that affect society on such a large scale. Most people will only get invested in political matters if it gives them an excuse to feel empowered or morally just. And by most people I mean all people.
