"Free will" was debunked centuries ago. Millennia ago.
Per Abrahamic cow/jew worship:
Yahweh is omnipotent.
Yahweh is all-loving.
Yahweh is the creator.
Therefore yahweh knows what you're going to do before you do it, because he created you to do it.
Therefore yahweh creates a segment of the population to be evil and do heinous things, just so he can torture them forever.
Therefore yahweh is not all-loving.
Therefore Abrahamic theology is in an unresolvable conflict which cannot be reconciled.
For Abrahamic cow/jew worship to be logically consistent, something has to be thrown out.
EITHER:
Yahweh is NOT omnipotent (and therefore not God).
Yahweh is NOT the creator, and something else is (and therefore not God).
Yahweh is NOT all-loving, and treats his creations like an amoral ant farm. Thus is undeserving of worship.
You cannot have "free will" in a universe where a creator being knows what you're going to do before you do it and created you to do that very thing. You are not a free agent in that system. You are an automation crafted by a bipolar cosmic being that might randomly decide to hurt you for no reason.
Ironically, native European religions, which christianity is not and never will be, did not have this logical conflicts. The Gods were creators and highly-knowledgeable, but not infallible, and had moral faults just like real people. "Free will" existing in THAT system would actually work, since we would just be echoes of their own faults.
