If power corrupts I would declare a national emergency to seize more power. Then I would launch an enquiry into where my government assigned wife got to.
This has really got me thinking. I don't know anything about politics and the mistakes of the past. Do labour camps/carehomes for the bottom tier of the population work? Should we have corporal punishment and the death penalty? Does government managed housing for all work? (with many rules, you can choose roughly where to live, but there will be a waiting list and you will be denied if it would imbalance the community, you can be forcibly relocated with a notice period to maintain the balance, affordable housing will be available near the labour camps). Does government seizure of land for redevelopment for the greater good work? Should we become neutral or preserve our military and industrial base with make work projects for times of need? (not only for our sake, but for our allies too). Should we have national votes on who our allies are and who we send foreign aid to? Should we have energy security at any cost or "save the environment" and make everyone poorer today so someone in the distant future with <50% native blood gets a few more decades out of these lands?
