>>17383957well if they would do that then the interior would become abysmally cramped and uncomfortable so they would have to make the whole tank wider and bigger and i don't think angling those plates would even benefit in any way, tanks are not supposed to get hit in the sides in the first place and if it actually gets hit in the sides then the crew is definitely doing something wrong
so it's just really unnecessary to angle those side plates on sherman especially considering that it will complicate things big time and will be just practically useless, it's easier to create a whole new tank with that feature in mind on that point
