I bet they were motivated to use your threads to their advantage after seeing another poster reply in a similar style. And knowing I would most likely reply in your future threads, they expected to create some sort of conflict and as well as distrust.
Course this could all be wrong and maybe a devout Godot fan lives amongst the goons, but this is unlikely considering their demographic.
