>>17144571youtube.com/watch?v=jgFeQxClJJkI like C418's unreleased stuff (as in, they didn't show up in the game) of the Minecraft soundtrack a lot, and this is basically a mash-up of them. I was really happy when I first found it, cause it's something I wanted badly but thought would never exist.
It's like a great mash-up some random fan would make about a decade after the release of an album which then would get lost in the depths of YouTube somewhere, except it's by the original artist.
And it's done really well. He takes two slower, soothing kind of like songs and turns it into a single higher energy one, so it just really resonates with you if you're already familiar with those. When it's put into that form, it feels like all the memories you had while listening to them all come flooding back. Which is probably what he was going for, since it could've been a really good calm "put it on the background" track like the others were, but it's not. It's supposed to evoke some emotion.
It's also nice to see those tracks being appreciated, even more so by the person who made them. Since they never play in the game, most don't even know that they exist or just don't care for them because it doesn't carry the same nostalgia as other tracks. Which is a shame, because I think they're actually the best of the whole soundtrack, especially Droopy Likes Your Face. I've well over a thousand plays of it on Winamp alone.
I'm pretty sure he created it with that in mind. It's not made to be listened to by just anyone but by the people who really liked that stuff of his which isn't as well-known as his more popular music. It'd probably come off like a random experimental track to anyone else.
It's also just saying it in the title, that he remembers these two old tracks even if they weren't as appreciated as the rest. Cool.
Though it's fair that they never played in Minecraft, because they didn't really fit in with the feel the game was going for. Back when that was cared about.
