Business pros : start earlier, make more money, can live in Korea after a few years
Cons : I don't really care, these days you have to invest so much to not be a wageslave might be difficult since I never take these things seriously.
Koreanology pros : Was invited to do that (so my teachers already want to give me their connections etc...), it's overall more interesting, might be the first French to ever do this, if I get a job in Korea gonna have super high status/salary etc...,
Cons :
- Long : have to get a PHD, have to follow some lectures they might be really boring, in France not such a good pay, have to have a university job or I'm fucked, very niche which is very good and bad at the same time.
In France, one person in Paris that's a sinologist has the power to give us a scholarship and decides who will get the teacher's job at univ. According to my teachers she is arrogant (who would have guessed from a Parisian), but if I don't fight with her I can get a scholarship (1000euro/month) + the job at 1700euro/month for 8h/week and impossible to fire me. The thing is what happens if she doesn't like me or thinks I'm not competent enough..? Korea is much better 3k/month, 5months of holidays and a very prestigious social status but apparently it's hard, becoming a teacher works basically by working hard and bribing to get the job, for a foreigner it's who do you know, your background barely matters according to my teachers sometimes their recruitment is absurd beyond beliefs. I will try to make connections in Seongkyungwan...
I want to do something that I care about at least a bit, but I don't want to be 30 with little money and bad social status bc you know how hard it will be to get a (k)cutie with that. Also I want to be in Korea for some years at least, or a foreign country, but not France, the atmosphere here is too heavy.
