My world is based on a world that was mundane and now isnt and thus it mixes my life experiences in with stuff from friends and other things growing up. Though I dont think I have stuff as detailed as you like a whole complete basket ball league and its setup. My world is setup around the whole scene and atmosphere and a hint of 1930s pulp in it.
I think what I am making is a kind of hodge podge section of stuff I can throw together to make anything and you have a coherant world of life and stories and people and intertwined lives. Mine has that but its more a surface thing like oh so and so is related to so and so but its not fleshed out and detailed like some of your world sounds.
