After the Democrats won a majority in the Virginia senate and House of Delegates, they're poised to pass a whole slew of gun control measures, from assault weapons bans, mandatory gun registration, red flag laws, universal background checks, etc. In response, a fuckload of Virginian counties declared themselves second amendment sanctuaries and had their local law enforcement announce that they would not carry out any kind of measure passed by the state that violated the second amendment. And in response to THAT, multiple democrat lawmakers are now floating around the idea of prosecuting officers that don't comply with the new laws and even lobbying governor Coonman to nationalize the national guard and do the job that the sheriffs are unwilling to do.
