>>1994813Going back to the topic of government, socialism only really serves to increase the power of said government financially and legally. There would be undoubtedly some officials that take a little bite out of that big, rich pie to help supplement their income and give them undue wealth over other and perhaps even the ability to influence others through financial means. Additionaly, social programs are a big business here in the United States because many contractors are paid to provide services to welfare recipients. However, this ultimately results in an expansion of the government into an area where it can't administer effectively and this area would be better off in the hands of private individuals anyway. This expansion ultimately creates a precedent that the government can expand into other areas previously held by private enterprises.
