Comfort, I believe insomnia is caused by a belief of uncertainty in ones conciseness... You see sleeping is when one is the most vulnerable, so from a phycological view point one must first evaluate himself and find what's causing the said insomniac state of being.
Stress? Fear? Anger? Strong negtive emotions can be considered primarily cause
Then there's the secondary reason, the position some people prefer to sleep in tiny closets or spaces that are "snug" so as to give phycological comfort to themselves while some prefer a wide space, personally I prefer a corner having a wall behind my back gives me a sense of relief that nothing can harm me while I sleep.
Summary :
I believe you need to find what makes you the most comfortable both physically and phycologically.
