I dislike them almost as much as I hate absolutely plot irrelevant mascot characters.
If you are going to have a fat character, at least depart from the 1 Dimensional "LOL HE'S EATING A BAG OF CHIPS IN THE BACKGROUND" / " LOL HE SAID HE WAS HUNGRY AT AN INAPPROPRIATE TIME!"
If you are going to have a mascot character, have them actually be plot relevant in some way.
