unless there is another subgroup of poles (a poland "c") that I'm not aware of, the Piast dynasty had both these subregions as buffer puppet states for trade taxing. There was no Polish foreign relationship because it never existed until the buffer state magically needed a new culture in order to be liberated from the nazis for Russian control.
