I just grabbed a pom-pom off one delicately so not to break it, took it to my vegetable garden, and smeared it into the dirt in an empty patch, few weeks later I had dandelions for healthy greens.
What you should get is rarer colours of dandelions, or plants like chicory, hawkweed and hawksbeard that LOOK like dandelions and spread just as well.
