You can use toothpaste with Novamin which is much better at rebuilding enamel than fluoride. It's not marketed in the US for obvious (((reasons))) but you can buy it online from sellers in India. Sensodyne is the brand I know that contains it, but there may be others.
The real issue with fluoride is not whether to use it for dental health - the evidence in support of that is overwhelming. However, what *kind* of fluoride you use does make a difference. Sodium fluoride and monofluorphosphate ("MFP") have restorative qualities but only stannous fluoride has the bactericide characteristics that actually prevent cavities from forming and, just as important, also prevents bad breath.
Stannous fluoride was the standard into the 70s (old US tards will remember Crest with Fluoristan, their proprietary stannous fluoride compound) but was replaced in most toothpastes with the other two.
Don't brush with the discount shit or anything you find in a dollar store. Sensodyne and Crest both market toothpastes with stannous fluoride. That's what you should be using. Check the ingredients before buying.
