English is easy to me; my ancestors were pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower. When telling me about family history, my relatives would always emphasize the Spanish or French or German or Swedish or Native American blood that is in there in my bloodline. But I looked at some genealogy studies a relative did, and it was basically all English people from England with English names except for the occasional foreigner.
IDK, I grew up speaking English in America which is a nation that came out of England with the ancient English nursery rhymes everyone knows and all that.
But it didn't occur to me until later that some other people's recent ancestors are from fucking Italy and Russia and Poland and all these places. I think the predisposition having to do with language has to do with genetics. I wouldn't try to learn Russian or something; there would be no hope for me.
