The firstborn son doesn't receive all of the punishment - every son is punished for his own sins. The firstborn only receives more punishment because he should know better - he has been part of the family longer. There is no sin where there is no law - the scattered Israelites, the "gentiles" (which is simply a Latin word that means "nations" or "peoples", and doesn't mean "non-jew") you speak of, are not punished for their sins when they didn't have the Law.
Bastards, non-Israelites, never had the Law. They aren't punished for any sins. But, this also means that they do not inherit any of the Father's property or blessings either. They're illegitimate, they're irrelevant, doesn't matter if they live or die, if they thrive or struggle, none of it - they aren't part of the family, they aren't God's holy people, they're bastards. They're goats. They're tares. They're vessels of wrath, fit only for destruction.
I'm quite happy being a vessel of glory instead, even if that means I have to get roughly polished and buffered every now and again.
