>>23326183And btw, posts like THIS is what we need more of in /ftl/. /ftl/ thrives most on COMMUNITY and ENGAGEMENT, not GOSSIP. Gossip just brings tourists, but it's the community that develops and exists here and the engagement that follows that keeps people posting here. It doesn't matter if you post some inane offtopic bullshit that nobody cares about. Just make a post. It helps further the community. Doesn't matter what it is. Look at latenightposting-klaus. Much of it would be considered spam by some, but it's actually essential to keeping latenightposting alive. Next, we introduce ENGAGEMENT. Engagement is as simple as providing a choice for people to respond to. Examples include: "should I get butter or a pizza at the grocers this day"; "should I read dostoevsky or hugo, e'en"; "should i rent a 1-bedroom apartment and save $350/mo or rent a 2-bedroom apartment and gain an office?" These are but some examples. There are MANY more. If the thought comes to you during the day, "hmm, X or Y," REGARDLESS of the topic matter, post it on /ftl/. You will increase the level of COMMUNITY by simply providing additional presence here, and you will increase ENGAGEMENT by increasing the choices for the enjoyers of /ftl/. Remember. COMMUNITY and ENGAGEMENT trumps GOSSIP.
