The point of anybody's life is exactly the same - to be a little cog in a huge machine. I, you or a member of the elite is a small part of the One. Without that small part, the entire machine wouldn't work at all. It is our ego and desires that keep us suffering. For example, have you asked yourself what does "you" really mean? Is "you" the body you own and the genes that are instructions on how to create that body? If yes, then your lineage (DNA) matters, because after your body dies, then at least half of "you" (if you think you are your body and DNA) will survive in the next generation (we get 50% DNA from each parent), BUT what if "you" just like everything else is created on the most basic level from pure consciousness and therefore "you" never die, but instead go and experience this world from another perspective?
What makes "you" is your soul and currently you are experiencing this world in the form of a human and when you go through and finish the journey in that form (as a human) then your soul will continue It's journey in another dimension, on different level, in another state, however "you" will still exist and will still be a part of this reality, this world and part of the One. After your journey in human form ends, your soul (consciousness) will again join the One just like it was before your current incarnation as a human when you were born. You will continues the journey in a different way and experience.
Please notice, that even the most basic rules of this Universe, and physics' 1st law of thermodynamics says that an energy (in this case a consciousness / soul) cannot be created nor destroyed, just transformed from one form into another, and everything follows that law-including your consciousness/soul and everybody else's.
