You will actually try to defend an insult as a legitimate term instead of a reappropriation in aggressive tone. The only reason they ever started being called "traps" is because that's exactly what they were known for doing and got beat up for it; trapping dudes into sex or dates. Some dudes are too stupid to be able to just see the difference between a guy and a girl, even if it's just a guy dressed up like a girl, and would end up taking them home, only to find out it has a dick.
The "is it gay" part comes from the "only if balls touch" meme. It's all a fucking joke, none of the trap discussion is serious because trap isn't a serious term.
