The sperms are like, the active reproductive sex cell. So it's like that the sperm cell is the actual "person" and that "person" gets to become a person when that sperm cell has an egg cell to become into a human with.
So I guess eggs don't seem like "little people" to me, but sperm cells do because they are the ones that compete in the race to get to the egg and take actions that one could personify them.
