IN THE GAME, YOU GET SUCKED INTO THE MEDIA DIMENSION, BY AN EVIL SPIRIT KNOWN AS "REZ"! THIS IS CLEARLY AN ANCRONYM FOR "Reality Eraser Zapper". The clear message is about how we as americans are being BRAINWASHED by the LIBERAL MEDIA into not standing up for our rights, ignoring the REAL PROBLEMS on our planet, and instead are spoonfed a constant stream of mind melting idiocy (except for rick and morty). During the game, Gex makes several pop culture references, showing how much the media has taken over his mind, addicted him to it with nothing else for him to think about. Whether it be Austin Powers references, or making jokes about Jerry Garcia's use of acid, it's clear Gex has only one thing in his life, TV. At the end of the game, Gex is returned to the real world, and instead of doing anything with his life, making a change, he just sits back down and WATCHES MORE TV! DON'T YOU SEE?
