No, don't waste your money for something you can neither use nor upkeep without a crew. Do you know how horrible it is for the driver to switch to the commanders' copula, reload and aim? It'll take you long enough for someone to throw a moli or two into the engine and blow your ass up.
If anything, buy an old BMP and use it as a mobile base. It takes you a few seconds to switch seats, it's easy to drive and doesn't use explosive shells, which you'll never use anyway. They are even cheaper and the spare parts are easy to come by, just make sure to buy a "standard" one and not one of the million variants the soviets produced

Realistically you wouldn't even need the cannon. Just lop it off and install the semi automatic rifle of your choice where the breech is. The barrel is so large you could use the optics of your weapon through it. Leave maybe one foot of barrel on the end so incoming fire would have to do the impossible task of being shot directly into the barrel to hit you.

Bout 2L/Km, keep in mind tho that soviet stuff wasnt made to last. I doubt you could get more then 1K miles out of the thing before overhaul of the drivetrain/engine. The soviets had a system where stuff was expendable and needed constant depot level maintenance. For example their planes (mig21) had cheap engines that needed depot level overhaul every 400H running time. Wheras western engines of the same era could get 1K+ hours between overhauls.

Furthermore get a recovery tank if you must, no gun so demilling is cheaper.

There is a dutch youtuber that is restoring a Sadam era type 69 (chinese T54/55)

1K Km is a lot in tank terms, If my memory serves me correctly. KMW (Leopard 2) guaranteed their tanks for 10K km.

Furthermore the T55 nowadays is a death trap, most tanks that lack active countermeasures agains AGTM's are. A cheap RPG will go through a T55 without kontakt reactive armor like a knife through butter. Turret drive is hydraulic which doesnt help in a bit.

Largest PITA about owning a comblock tank is that you have to have a trailer to haul the thing around, as they lack the rubber track pads that western tanks have. The steel tracks on those ruskies will plow through asphalt like its nobody's buisness.

Any newly produced tank nowadays is 1.5M+ and that is for ex comblock designs that have poor survivability in modern conflicts. Most of the T72/80/90 tanks still dont have blowout panels for the ammo storage. This means that it only takes one hit to fry the crew.
A good crew will cost a significant portion of a tanks purchase price in investments that are lost when your cheapo design cooks off because it doesnt have modern features found on western designs.

Due to the massive losses suffered by the IDF armored corps in the 1973 the IDF started looking for a better protected tank because they realized a good crew is worth more than a tank.

The M1 is a decent tank but does have the drawback of that gas turbine engine. It guzzles fuel and theres a finite supply of them as spares because OEM manufacturing has so any M1 in operation is dependant on the ability to remanufacture those turbines.
